The Waterford U23 Camogie team welcomed Tipperary to the Portlaw GAA Grounds on Saturday, 7th June 2025, for Round 3 of the All-Ireland U23 Camogie Championship. Throw-in was at 1:30pm.Tipperary came into the match as favourites, as a number of their players on today’s panel  won the Premier Junior All-Ireland Camogie title in 2024 .Tipperary made their intentions clear from the outset, registering the first point within the opening minute through Hannah Butler. Aoife Dwyer followed up shortly after with a converted free. A misplaced Waterford puckout was quickly punished by Danielle Ryan, who slotted over Tipperary’s third point inside the first eight minutes.

Waterford got off the mark in the 9th minute with a fine point from Rhona Drohan. However, just as the home side appeared to be settling into the game, Danielle Ryan struck again — this time raising a green flag to extend Tipperary’s lead. Rachel O’Brien added two more points for Waterford, but Tipperary continued to apply pressure, tagging on four more scores before the break.Half-Time Score: Waterford 0-3, Tipperary 1-7

In the second half, Laoise Forrest contributed three points while Rachel O’Brien added another for Waterford. Despite their spirited efforts, Tipperary’s strength in depth began to show. Waterford made several substitutions midway through the half, introducing Alyssa Farrell, Hannah Hamilton, Laura Buckner, and Meave Sheridan.Up front, Tipperary’s attacking trio of Grace Moloney, Danielle Ryan, and Hannah Butler proved clinical, with their movement and finishing causing constant problems for the Waterford defence. That said, Waterford’s full-back Faye Murphy put in a standout performance, making several crucial blocks and clearances throughout the match.Full-Time Score: Waterford 0-7, Tipperary 2-18
